Guide to Botox Brow Lift Singapore
What is the Botox Brow Lift?
The Botox brow lift is a quick, safe, non surgical and minimally invasive injectable treatment to elevate the outer portion of the eyebrows.
This treatment is ideal for those patients who find that their eyebrows are drooping or those who wish to enhance the shape of their eyebrows.
How does Botox brow lift work?
Botox is a commonly done cosmetic injectable treatment worldwide for the treatment of wrinkles and lines in areas such as the forehead, frown and crows feet area. It can also be used for jaw slimming, shoulder and calf contouring.
Specific to Botox brow lift, it works by relaxing the “depressors” of the forehead. These depressors “pull down the brows” and are called the frown muscles (corrugators). Another depressor muscle that is targeted is the outer muscle around the eye (orbicularis oculi).
When these 2 depressor muscles are relaxed with botox, the forehead muscle (frontalis) exerts a lifting effect on the eyebrows, creating a subtle lift more noticeable in the outer corners of the eyebrows.
Botox Brow Lift Treatment Experience
Dr Edwin will precisely plan out the areas of Botox injection after examining your forehead and eyebrows in the clinic.
In total, there may be between 5 to 7 injection points for the Botox brow lift.
An icepack will be applied to the area before each injection to reduce discomfort, swelling and bruising.
Discomfort is minimal and feels like small antbites.
After the Botox injections, there will be small bumps that look like mosquito bites. Patients are advised not to apply pressure over these bumps as that could lead to unintended diffusion of botox.
The Botox bumps will typically disappear after 4 to 6 hours.
Should there be bruising, an Intensive Recovery Cream can be applied to expedite the healing process.
